Reflection about the course Sanamente Libremente
I want to share a very important reflection based on my experience in the course "SanaMente LibreMente". As future English teachers, we usually focus a lot on lesson plans and grammar, but this course really opened my eyes to something bigger. I learned that academic success goes hand in hand with mental health, and that our classrooms must be safe spaces for everyone. In the video, I talk about key ideas like emotional literacy, creating a culture of trust, and how to help students without using labels. I also discuss the challenges we might face with topics like addiction prevention and cultural taboos. I truly believe that behavior is a way of communication, so we need to be a bridge to support our students. I hope this video helps us rethink our role as educators!
To be honest, this assignment was a real challenge for me . At first, it
was a bit frustrating to know that I have to record 3 or 4 times the same activity, but in the end, it was a great experience. I realized
that constant practice is the only way to improve our speaking and presentation
skills in English. Before this, I usually prepared my presentations just the
night before, and of course, the next day I didn't feel confident and made a
lot of mistakes. Recording myself multiple times made me question how I prepare
for my academic work. Now I understand that if I want to look professional, I
need true preparation and time. This exercise showed me that practice actually
makes a huge difference in how we communicate.
I read your reflection no matter that I cannot see the video, but I made a similar activity and like you was a real challenge for me also, we learned all this information in Spanish so, we should translate the information, but you made it so well. Congrats.
ResponderBorrarI also read your reflection and I agree with you sometimes as teachers , we are so focus on academic context , but mental health is so important.
