Sharing experiences with my classmates


During a class on the Development of oral & written skills, our professor divided us into small groups of three to share our personal stories about how we learned English. We had to answer some questions that the teacher gave us as a guide. It was a great opportunity to hear different experiences, but after listening to my two classmates, I realized one method was clearly the most effective. In the audio link below, I explain our group's discussion and focus on why a natural and learning through real-life practice and exposure to language is the best way to adquire another language rather than just memorizing grammar rules. 




Activity Reflection

This activity was a great eye-opener for me. Listening to Carlos's story made me realize that true language acquisition happens when you are exposed to the language and feel a real need to communicate to get ahead. Since I want to improve my own skills, this inspired me to look for communities of foreigners or simply start conversations with the many tourists who visit my Puebla.

Additionally, this exercise is a perfect example of how to design a dynamic, meaningful lesson.  We used English to talk about our own lives, ask questions, and debate different points of view. The final task forced us to prepare a conclusion, record ourselves, and listen to our own mistakes.

Personally, I had to record my audio several times before getting a final version. This process of self-correction was tough but incredibly useful. When you challenge students with a real task, it naturally forces them to practice over and over to get the best possible result. I absolutely loved this activity, and I will definitely replicate this in my future classes.

    Thank you for sharing, and now with all that we have learned I can say that your reflection shows meaningful learning and motivation to improve English through real communication.We did not notice, but we were working in a task-based activity, self-correction.At the end this helped us to grow both personally and professionally.

    I found the activity very meaningful and interesting, since sharing the process of learning or acquiring English allows for a better understanding of the different experiences and challenges that exist in language learning.

Sanamente libremente

Reflection about the course Sanamente Libremente I want to share a very important reflection based on my experience in the course "SanaMente LibreMente". As future English teachers, we usually focus a lot on lesson plans and grammar, but this course really opened my eyes to something bigger. I learned that academic success goes hand in hand with mental health, and that our classrooms must be safe spaces for everyone.
